We at SCBC believe we are, foundationally, a people on a mission. We are a people sent by the master, Jesus Christ, to be ambassadors for His kingdom.

"God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!"
2 Corinthians 5:20
(NLT)

There are many ways in which Jesus modeled the love of God in the Gospels and it’s our ambition to follow his example. We desire to make the good news known, that there is hope for broken people (like us!) in Jesus, and to make that news known both in Surrey and to the ends of the earth. But we also desire to offer Christ-like service and care to those who are hurting. For we know, Psalm 12:5, that God is a friend to the poor and oppressed, and we desire to be a people after his heart.

We are labouring towards this mission through these avenues:

  • Mission Trips: Each year our congregations take part in short-term mission trips to places all over the world seeking to serve others and lift up the story of Jesus.
  • Night Shift Ministries: Night Shift provides hot meals, prayer, counseling, and education for needy people in the Surrey area 365 days a year. It is our joy to serve with their team of employees and volunteers.
  • Adopt-a-Street: Creation is a gift, and creation care is a responsibility of all people. We can’t fix everything, but we can do our part to care for our community and Adopt-a-Street is part of that.
